Landing Distance Calculation

Total landing distance breaks down into two segments: Air Distance (from crossing the threshold at 50 ft to touchdown, approximately 300-450m) and Ground Roll (the distance to stop the aircraft after touchdown).

3 Steps to Improve Your Precision

  1. Lock the Aiming Point

    Aim for the big white blocks (Aiming Points) located approximately 1000 ft (300m) from the runway threshold. These are your reference points for a precise TDZ touchdown.

  2. Stabilize at 1000 ft

    At 1000 feet AGL, your speed and descent path must be locked. Final configuration, gear down, 3° glidepath. If you're not stabilized, go around.

  3. The 60% Rule

    You should be able to stop within 60% of the available runway length. If you touch down too long, you compromise this safety margin.
